In the rolling hills of Lalibela (in those houses you see on the picture), where nature’s secrets whispered through the winds, I discovered my passion for guiding curious souls on unforgettable journeys. From an early age, I embraced the role of an enthusiast tour guide, eagerly absorbing wisdom passed down from my grandpa and other wise elders in my community.
Growing up amidst the breathtaking landscapes, I felt a deep connection with the land and its stories. This connection propelled me to pursue a first BA and Master’s degree in Tourism Management, where I honed my understanding of the industry’s intricacies. Armed with academic knowledge and the treasured insights from my elders, I embarked on a journey of sharing the wonders of my homeland with others.
My journey took a detour into academia as I found myself as a lecturer in the esteemed Department of Tourism Management at Jimma
University.
Here, I nurtured young minds, sparking their passion for exploration and imparting the invaluable wisdom I had gathered over the years. Yet, I yearned to share the beauty of Ethiopia with a wider audience beyond the classroom walls.
Driven by this vision, I ventured into the realm of entrepreneurship and founded Mama Ethiopia Tours, where I now proudly serve as the CEO. With firsthand experiences and a deep appreciation for the land’s history and culture, I bring the magic of Ethiopia to life for every traveler. Through my tours, I invite explorers to delve into the rich tapestry of our heritage, unveiling hidden gems and immersing themselves in the warmth of our people.
